Bringing Sukirti back

Missing Sukirti... and the KaSu sizzling chemistry...

I'm presenting the views of some die-hard Sukirti's fans... [me one of them]

First Ridhimaa change: Sukirti's entry to DMG

The first few weeks were doubtful. She wasn't nearly as pretty; the amazing chemistry was not there, there was the start of a 'friendship' and a totally new relationship. Sukirti's Ridhimaa was young, very innocent looking, and had none of Shilpa's effortless sensuality. She wasn't going to make it, I thought. Then I saw one scene in which she imitated a child's voice... I sat up. One point in her favour 'she could act' and her voice had modulation, showed her emotions. Not 100% convinced, but feeling more positive.

Shashank Padma wedding... the scenes leading up to it. The kitchen scene at the engagement... nice! Re-establishment of the awkwardness and the awareness... or a start to it. A couple of re-shot scenes, I liked the kitchen one, not so much the red dupatta 'aur paas' one.

Then the farmhouse... Armaan walks on the balustrade, loses his balance and falls... and Ridhimaa runs to her room and breaks down. Armaan witnesses her tears. Wow... wow... wow. Now I understood Ridhimaa, her fears, her insecurities, why she kept running away from Armaan in spite of being so attracted to him. The jogging scene after that... again Armaan was brilliant, and this time Ridhimaa matched him, expression for expression, tear for tear.

Back to hospital... the Chirag-Ritu sequence, and the scene at the nursing station where Ridhimaa doesn't respond to Kirti and Armaan gently touches her, her nervous start, her expressions... yes, the chemistry was building. The scene in the lift thereafter where she tries to talk to Armaan about Chirag, he rebuffs her, her expression of anguish as she leans against the lift and whispers 'Why can't I keep away from him?'... It touched my heart and Sukirti's Ridhimaa and her emotions, her love came alive. Till then, it had been about Armaan and his feelings... now we saw the other side and finally there was intensity, longing and fire on both sides.

The July 10th scene was the steamiest I've seen on Indian television, but what was even better was Armaan's fury after that, and Ridhimaa's reaction. By now I was totally hooked on Sukirti's Ridhimaa and I have no hesitation in saying she delivered a Ridhimaa that was brilliant, a young girl in love for the first time... shy, hesitant, modern on one hand, yet with enough family and Indian values to respect her father's decision, his views and feelings all through, even fight with her lover for them.

From the first breakdown, the scenes in the village where she goes to manao Armaan, the bomb blast, her face without a shred of make-up, terror-crazed... The scenes where Shashank is in trouble and Ridhimaa is torn between her father and Armaan, and then, the most heart touching were the one when Shashank disapproves of their relationship and the pain and agony both Armaan and Ridhimaa go through. It didn't cross my mind for once that all this was just acting; it all looked so real to me. The way her voice broke when she cried and her expressions were so real.

As for chemistry, too many to mention 'Dupatta tera nau rang da', 'Chhaliya', the terrace scenes in Sanjeevani and in her house, each little meeting in the fire escape, the tent scene during Sanjeevani Crisis, the scene where Armaan tries to apologize to her for some photographs and she refuses to accept his apology in the locker room in full view of the others... her expressions were priceless... a girl with full confidence in her love, teasing her lover to her heart's content, and enjoying mischievously the torment she's putting him through.

Shilpa laid a great foundation... she built up the AR pair with her chemistry. Probably the AR pair would not have been the way it was if it had been any other actress. Sukirti carried it to new heights, made Ridhimaa a softer, sweeter and far more loveable character. She deepened the love, made it real, more meaningful, a stronger and more lasting emotion than the initial chemistry that started it. It's a real pity for the show that so many people couldn't see that. Sukirti is an actor per excellence... she had everything in her armory to make her the best... Not only she looked innocent but her fresh, childlike look suited the character.

Lastly... I request you all to sign this petition... to bring Sukirti... the real... the irreplaceable Ridhimaa back in DMG... hoping against hope... that she'll be back soon, very soon, again providing us with the sizzling KaSu chemistry... with all her cute expressions, mellow voice and priceless tears.
